When I saw this inscription on the main page, at first I couldn’t believe my eyes, but in the second I happily opened the link and started reading. It was spinning in my head: “Well, finally these long-awaited results from my favorite gaming site, great news at the beginning of the evening!». And this despite the fact that, to put it mildly, I didn’t like this idiotic restriction of nominees. Okay, I think SG has such great journalists, they can write in such a way that you’ll just gasp!
Now I’ve read it. Yes, it would be better not to read. And the point is not at all that my favorites did not win in any category (and this, taking into account the exceptional poverty of candidates in general). The article just doesn’t have any charm or any special atmosphere. Here I am opening last year’s results of the year – it’s nice to read them. And there is twice as much text there. And here it feels like the author himself is deeply uninterested in what he actually writes about. The article is completely routine, polished, the phrases are dry and lifeless. Plus some idiotic “schoolboy syndrome” creeps in. You know, when a young student commentator yells “AAAH, in Dragon Edge two main characters are gay, I won’t play it. «that’s one thing. But when I read practically the same thing in an article on a more or less serious site, it’s completely different. The feeling that there is nothing more to criticize the game for, except for the supposed “tendency towards non-traditional sexual orientation” (which directly depends on the gamer’s playing style). And these “advices”, like “MV3 is crap, don’t play it, just because we said so”. You know, I want to see balanced arguments, not cries of Battlefield fanboys.
Oh, what happened to my beloved SG in just a year?? Why, reading the previous results of the year, my soul feels good? Where has that charm, that unique gaming atmosphere gone?? Disappeared, evaporated. And it’s sad.
